And off we go

I have decided to jump onto this train that people call 'blogging', not sure what to expect and not sure what will come of it, but I figure it will be a good way for me to express my time here on the Gold Coast in a little more detail than just the party pictures that will eventually be posted on Facebook.

July 26 2011 I emailed a friend of mine from camp who currently lives, works and goes to school here on the Gold Coast about the possibility of going down under and working and experiencing 'the life'.  I suppose that is where this whole journey started.  I've always wanted to go over there, but it just didn't seem to work out.  This time I wasn't going to let anything stop me.  Day by day we continued to talk and I continued to talk to the aussies there at camp and it progressed into applying my visa.  At that point it was too late to turn back.

So here I am, almost 2 months later and I feel as though everything has happened so quickly.  There are a million things to talk about, even from these last 2 weeks of being here.  I will attempt to bring everyone up to speed.  I have turned into a picture freak claiming I have to take a picture of everything for my blog obviously.

The Gold Coast, 6 months and a million stories still ahead of me.  I will hopefully be able to share most (not all, sorry mom) of them with you and at the same time maybe for everyone back home you will feel slightly connected to how things are down here.  Halfway around the world, and yet just a mouse click away.

I will hopefully be able to get to a cafe tomorrow to update what has been happening the last few weeks.  I love you all and I hope everything is well back home.
